Frequently asked questions

Why are your courses free?

We offer free courses because not everyone has the money needed to learn the skills we are teaching. We believe everyone has a right to learn and better themselves regardless of their income or social status.

Why do you charge for certificates of completion?

Certificates of completion cost money to make and track. It also takes time for us to verify each certificate is correctly made and delivered.  Certificates of completion are an option to show what you have learned without registering and taking the much more expensive 3rd party certification exams.Netinstruct.com uses the money we earn from certificates of completion to bring our students more content and to improve the website.

Why are 3rd party certification exams so expensive?

Organizations such as Microsoft, CompTIA, ISC2, ISACA, and EC-Council spend a lot of time and money creating courses and exams to prove  competency in the areas of study. Many of these courses are also accredited by outside educational entities or by the DOD to meet certain requirements. It costs a lot of money to become accredited

Are Netinstruct.com courses or certificates of completion accredited?

No! Our courses and our certificates of completion are not accredited. Our certificates only state that our students have taken a course and learned a specific skill that we have taught on our website. Our instructors are independent experts and share their knowledge in a specific subject. Accreditation is a long expensive process that would cause us to have to charge money for our courses to offset the cost.

What is the difference between a certificate of completion and a certification?

A certificate of completion only states that you have take a course, watched an education video or attended a webinar. It does not require  that you pass an exam or master the material. The Certifications from Microsoft, ISC2, CompTIA, EC-Council, or ISACA all require that you register for , take , and pass a very difficult exam proving mastery of the material. Those certifications are then backed by the organization that created them. Some colleges will give you credit for passing exams from one of these well respected certification granting organizations.
